ReplyDeleteNow, I have to say that I miss the possibility of being able to input my own landmarks in the maps, i.e. a restaurant or shop that isn't already in the map.
It would be the best app if you could do that.

ReplyDeleteWe almost finished bookmarks feature which helps you to mark any important places on a map. Also in the future we're planning to add an "edit map" feature, to add missing data directly to OpenStreetMap.

ReplyDeleteSeems to be the best offline map, but I still have a question. I guess you're using OpenStreetMap's data? If yes, then when I'm downloading a country, I'm downloading the most recent one at the moment from OSM servers, or I'm downloading the a version that you prepared and uploaded somewhere to your servers? Then how often are you updating it? Anyway, thanks a lot.

Usually, we update maps data with the updates of app. In the nearest future we are planning to make update process more clear without app updates. We suppose to make data updates once a month. DeleteNice app maybe I'm Still learning but haven't found a way to create directions or routes and the downloads you have to do for each state is excruciatingly slow even with WiFi attached, I paid for app thinking it would be complete US map, but still good for offline tablet app

have been using in Asia - works well. But now back in Darwin Australia and need to advise that Ryland Road in the suburb of Rapid Creek is totally missing from map. This is a busy suburban road of several kilometres in length, and seems a strange omission. You do at times get small lane ways missing from many map programs and that is okay - but not a street of this stature. Maybe this can be rectified sometime SOON.

We are using map data from OpenStreetMap community - it's like a Wikipedia in the World of Maps, where everyone can add or edit missing data (http://www.openstreetmap.org). You can change and update map data there, and will get updated maps in MapsWithMe.
